![]() ![]() It reminds me of an old joke by Lenny Bruce, a comedian who lived when homosexuality was a crime punishable by jail. Under the Tories’ anti-terrorism legislation, persons engaged in such activity could end up in prison. The Canadian prison system is where Muslim extremism radicalizing frequently occurs. That is not to support free speech but a gross perversion of it. I do not accept people have the right to advocate views such as Islamism, which if triumphant would clearly deprive all others of even the right to life. Where it has got to power, it persecutes any and all with whom it disagrees, not just by burning their books but by burning them, it would seem. Islamism is itself deeply and irrevocably intolerant. Jesse Kline in his appeal for uncontrolled free speech for those who would speak for Islamism differentiates what he views as acceptable advocacy from that which supports violence.
